Anthropogie visit

Anthropologie Visit Winter 2009

I finally managed to find this shop after walking past it and phoning my husband to find out whereabouts in Regent Street it actually is! (It's between Hamleys and the corner of Beak st).
It did seem quite unassuming at first.. hence why I may have walked past it... well it was busy after all... ooodles of shoppers to block my view.. that's my excuse.
Anthropologie came here only 2 months ago but has been going in the USA for 17 years since it began in Pennysylvania to "inspire and connect with women" through beautiful items of clothing, decorative creations, jewellery and homewares. It certainly has a lot to offer and I found it hard to tear myself away after over an hour and a half browsing.  There are 3 vast floors of gorgeousness - possibly 4 - I did get a bit dizzy with it all! And the folksy style of the offerings is, to use an expression that doesn't come easily to me "bang on trend"! These are just a few of the photos I took, yes I did ask and they were very happy for me to snap away. I'm very much looking forward to going back in the Spring when no doubt the whole range will have changed and fab new artworks, around which the products are arranged, will have been created, and there will be a new branch on Kings Road in Spring 2010 too.
Do try the changing rooms and don't miss the sale room  - I bought a wonderful top like the yellow one here only in fine brown and caramel stripes that accentuates my stripey hair!! and it was £20 cheaper.... Have fun!!

Long time no blog

Shocking how long it is since I've blogged!

These are just a few of the things I've been painting
that have prevented me!

Feeling excited about Christmas and my jaunt to London
next week.. just got to finish a few more commissions before
that... wish me luck.

Blofield School Fair

What a great morning I had today! Sales weren't great but I chatted up the headmaster- couldn't believe he is nearly retiring!! Told him he looked really "designery" and looked him up and down!!! woops - fortunately he was a lovely man and took it in good part. And met a fantastic dynamo of a woman who owns a craft collective in Acle Norfolk who wants my work in her shop; she's really keen on supporting local artists and we got on like a house on fire, very inspiring chat - just what I needed. Left feeling really excited about the future...

Here are a few pics of the stall at Blofield Junior school.

Twitter

Hmm feel a bit of a twit in that my twitter account has been hacked after I'd been saying how great Macs were and that I'd never had any problems. To be fair to the mighty Apple its probably got nothing to do with the computer I use, just desperate advertising hackers!

This was laugh out loud funny...

My husband showed me some Japanese instructions for his exciting motorcycle battery today....
and I quote, from the section re what to do if you come into contact with the acid:

"Method of detoxify:
Outside : to wash by clear fresh water.
Inside: take a plenty of clear fresh water of cattle breast, well - distributed egg or vegetable oil.
Please send to hospital at once.
Do not allow children to play it."

Well now you all know. Keep those cattle breasts handy.

Christmas Bunting

This Xmas bunting was ordered by a customer last night via notonthehighstreet.com , quite a thrill when I saw who it was for! Someone in the media but I won't name names in case she sees it and thinks I am a toad.
The painting here is for sale too if you're interested email me at gabsbuckingham@gmail,com, and you can buy the other things on the mantlepiece at http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/moobaacluck/products

Tiny business cards

This is my new little card from www.moo.com that I put in with all my orders; I love them! Can highly recommend in terms of paper stock quality.. so thick that I sometimes think I've picked two up at once.

Exhibiting at the Garden House Cromer

Am really pleased that I've been asked to be one of a handful of resident artists at The Garden House Gallery in Cromer from the end of October! One wall and some display space for Moobaacluck and a few smaller paintings.
Here's a shot of part of my studio in the last couple of days; still plenty of new products to actually paint and not much here is finished..

My work featured in Country Living!

Moobaacluck Christmas bunting as featured in Country Living in 2008!

Organic paints on sustainable 4mm birch ply  painted to order. Will be on Noths shortly ( if I can get the system to crank into gear here!)

Ink stamp

Found a company in Norwich last night that makes stamps from whatever you draw! Should have mine early next week and if its good I will put their contact details on my blog. Going to use this on the back of my envelopes and probably everything bar the walls in my house.

Really enjoyed doing it, if anyone wants me to design one for them let me know!

UPDATE: Really happy with my new rubber stamp! it's faithful to my design and prints well once I get the ink loaded properly. I got it from www.stampsdirect.co.uk based in Norwich. Fabo!

Hot off the Press

Pic from my recent exhibition of paintings

This is my daughter running away from some of my paintings at the Garden House Gallery in Cromer!

I was selling Moobaacluck items there too and did really well, which was a lovely surprise. Cards and little decorated wooden items all added up to over £300 sales! Plus I did sell the large tree painting on the right ( just seen) and the one of our garage roofjust behind Freya. All the others are still for sale and of course this was only a small proportion of what was there. Still not bad for a weeks exhibition that was only at for the private view!

Mr Site - disadvantages

Pleased as I managed to insert a link to my facebook fan page into my www.moobaacluck.com site this morning! I really like Mr Site but the only downside is the shop facility as it seems you can only list an item and then the quantity available. Which means that people can't specify personalisation or variation so they will have to use my noths site. Hey ho. No bad thing in a way as it makes it simpler for me. Unpersonalised things on my site and the rest at notonthehighstreet.com/moobaacluck. If any of you are thinking of joining do please mention my recommendation code :RC005226 !

My facebook like page when it was Moobaacluck!

Fancy being a FAN?
http://www.facebook.com/pages/moobaacluck/113765874050
I'd love to have you... 35 fans so far; something is supposed to happen when you have 100 fans. Not sure what as yet....

Update. You can now find Moobaacluck and Gabriella Buckingham in one place. Phew.

My favourite hand painted bunting

This picture is one of my birch wood buntings.
I sell these personalised ( one letter per flag) or just as they are.
Each one is unique of course!

As a mum of two its difficult to find time to do all the things I'd like
to so not everything I do is yet on line.

To see a selection of my illustration work to date go to the
gabsbuckingham.com site!

The start of my Moobaacluck Blog

Well this is all new to me!

Let's see if this goes up... so inspired by a site I saw today which led me in a round about indirect way to here.
